The Osthofen Gate is a city gate on the Hellweg in the Hanseatic city of Soest in North Rhine-Westphalia. The green sandstone building is the last remaining of the eight main and two side gates of Soest's city fortifications. The "new building" was built between 1523 and 1526 in place of an older gate. Its architect was Porphyrius von Neuenkirchen, who was also responsible for the further construction of the Wiesenkirche (Church of the Meadows). As the name suggests, it is the gate through which Osthofenstrasse, the main axis of the Osthofe (East Courtyard), leaves the city. This impressive building is actually only the remnant of the inner gate of the city fortifications built from 1180 onwards. Previously, access to the upper floor was via the rampart wall. In 1890, a large section of the city wall was demolished to make way for the railway station. Since then, the Osthofen Gate has stood freely and is accessible via a side staircase.

The Osthofentor, still standing today, is the inner gate tower of the former Osthofentor complex. The outer Osthofentor formerly had two semicircular towers with a passageway between them. The space between the outer and inner Osthofentor, the Zwinger, was relatively large in Soest. St. Severin's Chapel stood between the two gates until 1637. Since the station expansion in 1890, during which a large part of the city walls was demolished, the walls no longer directly adjoin the gate building.

The entrance, which was formerly accessible from the wall via spiral staircases on the north and south sides, is now only accessible from the south via a modern access staircase; the northern entrance area has been walled up.
