The Hollandersgatkreek is one of the many creeks in the northern Meetjesland.

The history of this region around the 12 ha large creek was mainly written by the seawater that at unfavourable times penetrated deep inland along gullies and peat pits and flooded villages and fields.

The creek is a true paradise for waterfowl, cyclists, anglers and hikers.

Hollandersgat Creek is a creek in the Meetjesland creek area southwest of the village of Sint-Margriete, which belongs to the East Flemish municipality of Sint-Laureins. Hollandersgat Creek extends from Blok Creek and is separated from it by a dam. The creek is a remnant of the Hollandersgat, which formed after the All Saints' Flood of 1570 and the subsequent inundations by the Geuzen. Hollandersgat Creek connects with Kruis Creek, which lies on Dutch territory and is connected to the Passageule via a complex creek system.
