At the Arsenaal, a quiet idyllic square within the fortress of Woudrichem, there are two gunpowder cellars in the earthen wall.
The gunpowder cellars were built in the nineteenth century and were part of the new Dutch waterline. These earth-covered casemates were resistant to the gunpowder-filled bombs of that time. The casemates (monument status) are now in use as Brasserie Zus and Kazemat Zus. Above Brasserie Zus is the grain mill Nooit Gedagt.
