        The Schoorlser dunes (Dutch Schoorlse Duinen) are a nature reserve in North Holland northwest of Alkmaar between the North Sea and the village Schoorl. The five-kilometer-wide dune area is bordered to the north by the Hondsbosschen dunes, which were washed up in the years 2013-2015, and ends after about six kilometers in the south by the Nordholländische Dünenreservat. Therein rises the radar dune, 54 meters high, the highest dune in the Netherlands (Wikipedia).

              The Schoorl Dunes are a dune area located to the west of Schoorl in North Holland. They are the highest (54 m) and widest (5 km) dunes in the Netherlands.

              In the north the nature reserve borders on the Hondsbossche seawall, in the south on the PWN area and in the west on the North Sea. The area is managed by Staatsbosbeheer. A century ago, the sand still had free rein, until Staatsbosbeheer started planting. Now there are heaths, coniferous forests, deciduous forests and beaches.

              There is more than 60 kilometers of hiking trails consisting of marked walks or self-made walks by connecting walking junctions. The North Sea Trail long-distance hiking trail also traverses the area. There are also many paved cycle paths. Important entrances for cyclists are the Schoorlse zeeweg at the visitor center on the Oorsprongweg (junction 45), the Hargense zeeweg, Camperduin or in the south at Duinvermaak in Bergen or via Bergen aan Zee.

              In Aagtdorp is the starting point of a mountain bike route. The route is 15 km long and falls into the heavy category due to its many climbs.
