This park is in the La Perle neighbourhood and has an area of 2.09 ha. In 1898, Eléodore Joseph "Leo" LaPerle (1895-1980) and his family travelled west from Ontario to Winterburn. There, in 1906, Leo's father opened a general store. Leo LaPerle enlisted in the army in 1917 and was stationed in England. He was discharged in 1919 as a sergeant. In 1929, LaPerle began running the family store and the Winterburn Post Office. The store remained in operation until 1969, when the building was torn down.
