The site is also home to Lommel SK. Lommel SK is a Belgian football club based in the city of Lommel.

KVSK United Overpelt-Lommel (KVSK United for short) was formed in 2003 after club SK Lommel went bankrupt. The remains of the club were integrated into the KVV Overpelt-Fabriek.

The abbreviation "KVSK" stands for Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging en Sportkring (German: Royal Football Association and Sports Circle) and is intended to combine the merged clubs KVV Overpelt-Fabriek and SK Lommel in the name.

In 2010, KVSK United merged with KFC Racing Mol-Wezel to form Lommel United. In 2017 the club was renamed Lommel SK.
Lommel SK now plays in the 2nd Belgian football league and ended the 22/23 season as 7th.

Sports park De Soeverein combines many sports options. You will find the indoor sports and events complex with conference center, cafeteria, sports hall, gymnastics hall, halls for martial arts and table tennis and a bicycle rental location. A very extensive outdoor complex with a beautiful playground, an athletics track with grandstand, tennis and midi tennis courts, a basketball court, a handball court, a skate park and a sports complex with swimming pool, tennis hall, cafeteria and a cozy terrace.

The sports park also houses 10 football fields with changing rooms and cafeteria, an illuminated fit-o-meter/condition track and riding rings for equestrian sports. A family-oriented swimming pool with cafeteria contributes to a pleasant swimming climate.
