An exquisite singletrack experience running from the Calf all the way down the Bowderdale in a continuous sinew of glorious trail.

Nothing technical particularly (unless you hate narrow singletrack), but this is pretty much the epitome of what mountain biking is about. Yes, you can ride it uphill from north to south, but heading downhill, south to north, is such a rewarding experience you'd be mad not to ride it this way round.

Even in current wet weather conditions totally rideable. If it wasn't for the big effort of getting to top of the Calf, this would be most popular trail in the Dales/Lakes. As it is we saw two other pairs of riders and had the wonderful place to ourselves.

After walking up the Calf (was far too steep and windy to ride) (32 chainring, 48T cassette). I was looking forward to the descent. Far too narrow, pedal strikes everywhere. Ended up scooting my way down, sad.
