From there, many hikers make the short walk (about a third of a mile) into Washington Center to visit the Washington General Store at 29 North Main Street. This family-owned store has served the community for over 20 years and is known for its hearty breakfast and lunch offerings, including pancakes, local eggs, sandwiches, burgers, and made-to-order pizzas. It also stocks cold beer, wine, local gifts, and essential supplies, making it a one-stop shop for trail users. The store is open Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 8 p.m., and Sunday until 4 p.m.
