The southwest ramp on the panoramic Monte Sighignola mountain starts in the Swiss town of Maroggia, directly on the shores of Lake Lugano. From the Mediterranean lake, you ride through the verdant Valle Mara, first to the town of Arogno, and then across the Italian border to Lanzo d'Intelvi. This is where the other access roads meet. A single-lane road leads you the final section to the lookout point, which offers a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding wooded hills.
