Located practically in the centre of the town of Mora, just a few kilometres from the Fluviário, the Megalithic Museum, the only one of its kind in the country, is the fulfilment of a long-standing dream of the local authority, with the aim of enhancing the vast and rich megalithic heritage that exists in the municipality.
Opened on 15 September 2016, the Museum integrates and rehabilitates the old Mora Station, as well as two new buildings intended for the museum centre and the cafeteria area.
The old structure houses leisure areas for young people and children, with an internet room and library, with free access, plus an activity room with various interactive games that, in a fun way, broaden our knowledge.
Built from scratch, the 750 square metre museum space follows the modelling of the land, and includes three spaces that represent the daily lives of the population: Life, Death and Contemplation.
