In May 2016, on the occasion of the passage of the Giro d'Italia, a commemorative plaque was inaugurated on the Colletta di Rossana to pay homage to Marco Pantani, known as "Il Pirata". The initiative, promoted by the municipalities of Busca, Costigliole Saluzzo and Rossana with the support of the enthusiast Mario Berardo, led to the creation of a monument composed of a block of stone measuring three meters by one and a half, surmounted by a steel plate shaped on the stylised profile of Pantani with his iconic bandana.
The work, created by the Verzuolo craftsman Massimo Mondino, has become a destination for tourists and enthusiasts, offering a point of reference for those who cross the Colletta, a road frequented both for competitions and for cycling training.
