    Probably 5,000 year old structure of the funnel cup culture. The Jeggen Hünengrab is considered a particularly stately specimen of a large stone grave. More at bissendorf.de/Seiten/25.html ?.

                  The megalithic tomb near Jeggen is the second stop on the Meglitic Culture Cycle Route. A few blasting marks can be seen on the eight ceiling stones, but the tomb is still relatively well preserved. A stately oak tree has now taken root in the burial chamber. The whole area is surrounded by a hedge and is complemented by a sculpture depicting the working techniques of the time, as well as a seating area.

                  I took advantage of this beautiful and peaceful break spot for a quick lunch 🤤

                          The Jeggen megalithic tomb is a Neolithic passage grave of the Emsland chamber type, bearing the Sprockhoff number 922. It was built between 3500 and 2800 BC and is a megalithic structure of the Funnel Beaker culture. Neolithic monuments are expressions of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies.
