The historic town hall in Otterndorf In 1583, Duke Erich gave the order: "A cellar should be built and a house should be built above it that is suitable for the town hall." The construction of the town hall was decided. In 1685 the building was then extended by an extension whose wall and ceiling paintings were restored in 1994/95. City Council meetings are still held in the Council Chamber today.
Elbe and North Sea, the river Medem and the South Sea: In Otterndorf, the water is always nearby. The North Sea resort is located on the Elbe estuary. Thick pots on their way to and from Hamburg leisurely walk along the river, seemingly within reach.
