The port is the highlight with a maritime flair.
Everything that has rank and name is concentrated here. With its implementation, the Fulgen district received an unexpected upgrade.
The port was created at the mouth of the Fulgenbach. After the last Ice Age, the foothills of a glacial valley are said to have been the riverbed of an arm of the Warnow, which flowed here.
This piece of land was so inhospitable that it couldn't have been more uninviting. Just like a river delta, with swampy, boggy meadows, battered by storms and floods. The architect who designed the Mediterranean development was a true artist. First the harbor development and then the holiday complex were built. Everything on swampy ground. Today one can no longer imagine what the place looked like before it was upgraded. Now it is Kühlungsborn's trademark and tourist magnet.

Kühlungsborn's maritime highlight. The port is at the mouth of the Fulgenbach.
This mouth is said to have been an arm of the Warnow. It originated in the last ice age. If you look closely you will notice that the harbor was built on a swamp and is located at the outlet of a glacial valley.
