The lower trail through the gorge of a 3.5km round trip in the Honghuashan Forest Park. The trail is uneven, in places slippery, and at times steep. Have to tread carefully. But the scenery is really nice along the stream, with some waterfalls and ponds.
After long or heavy rainfalls this path might not be accessible. At the eastern end it requires climbing a lot of stairs to rejoin the main path.
