This small church is idyllically located in a clearing in the forest. A house of worship is said to have stood here as early as the 12th century. It once belonged to the village of Högelstein, which disappeared in the 15th century due to epidemics and raids. Only the church remained and was rebuilt again and again, most recently at the end of the 19th century.
