Located in the quiet Krippenbachtal, the place is the starting point for interesting hikes and bike tours in the surrounding area. The Zschirnsteine, Kaiserkrone and Zirkelstein are imposing table mountains - worthwhile hiking destinations with beautiful views! The themed trail “In Caspar David Friedrich's Footsteps” in the Elbe Valley is particularly recommended. Krippen is an original artisan and merchant branch. Cribs were first mentioned as early as 1379 and since the end of the 19th century they have been a so-called summer resort or a popular holiday destination. Today, Krippen is a district of Bad Schandau and a quiet vacation spot.
