In the old days, a beaten road from Vladimir to the neighboring Ryazan region - to Kolomna and further - passed through Erleks. In winter, convoys moved across the ice of the Poli to Ryazan. During the times of Vladimir-Suzdal Rus, the road to Kiev passed through Erleks. To this day, near the churchyard, you can see the ancient embankments of the former trade route, overgrown with centuries-old pines, and the quiet waters of the Poli reflect the massive piles of wooden bridges that were once thrown between the river banks. In 1825, construction of a stone Trinity Church began in Erleks, financed by the serfs of the Panfilovs. The Panfilovs were actually merchants, they founded the Tasovsky glass factory in the village of Sintsovo, located 10 kilometers from Erleks, where they produced "crystal" glassware with grinding, engraving, and later built an even larger glass enterprise in the village of Ivanishchi. Finishing work in the temple continued until 1852. In 1862-68, a majestic, graceful stone bell tower was built at the church. The massive five-domed temple in the classical style harmoniously coexisted with a slender five-tiered bell tower 75 meters high.
