The Twin Pagodas are a landmark of Nanxiang - and they are the only remaining brick pagodas from the Five Dynasties period in China.
The pagodas have been built in the time around 907 ~ 950 and had originally been located inside the Nanxiang Temple. During a fire in 1766 the temple was destroyed and these pagodas built from brick had been the only remnants.
