The chapel, located in a Merovingian town center, was first mentioned in documents in 1342. The current building is a late Gothic hall church that was extended in baroque style around 1720. The chapel was formerly the destination of pilgrimages to St. Valentine, the helper of those suffering from the "falling disease." Falling disease = epilepsy.
