Ländtetor, Matte, Bern "built in the 13th century"
The Ländtetor used to serve as a mooring place for boatmen.
The gate, built in the last decade of the 13th century and walled up in 1873, was uncovered in 1959 and restored in 1961. The gate served as a choir court prison in the 18th century (>Ramseyerloch).
