McKnight Prairie is one of the few prairie fragments left in southern Minnesota. The hills are glacial till, and the large rocks scattered about are glacial erratics. What a contrast to the remnant of the Big Woods at Tierney's Woods in Bloomington that we hiked yesterday. Also, there was a contrast between the rows and rows of corn in the fields to the north of the prairie and the rows and rows of apple trees to the south.
