At the Prem Castle, a home museum has been found in its home, in which visitors come to know the rich history of the Reka River valley, ranging from prehistoric hills to medieval fortifications.

The building development of the castle, archaeological finds from this area and all the castle towns of the river Reka are presented in more detail on the exhibition panels and models.

Visiting exhibition exhibitions are held throughout the year. The idyllic surroundings of Prem Castle offer space for various events, from festive weddings to protocol meetings.

The city of Prem has been reigning over the picturesque valley of Rijeka and the mysterious Brkini since 1213.

The extremely important strategic position of the castle was the reason that during the 800 years of the castle there were a large number of castle gentry at the castle Prem. The castle belonged to the Counts of Devin, Walsee, the Habsburgs, the Count of Porcia and other noble families who found their home in the medieval castle.

During the long years of its existence, the castle witnessed important events that took place in its immediate vicinity. Prem was the site of many battles, from the Roman times, to medieval fights, Turkish invasions and the war of the 20th century. In the 16th century it was further consolidated. In order to protect the castle, mighty walls and a tower were built at that time, the walls of which are more than two meters wide.
