The Saint-Germain de la Serre chapel was built in the 11th and 12th centuries1. It was part of an extended rural priory, mentioned in the dependencies of the Saint-Victor Abbey of Marseille, which included the parish church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Serre and the annexes of Saint-Germain and Saint-Salvy. Nothing remains of the Notre-Dame church, already mentioned in 836, because it was dismembered in the 18th century by a viguier of Saint-Pons. Of the Saint-Salvy chapel, which was ruined by the roaders in 1361, there remains a tower located 500 m from the village.
