The last part of the climb from Au near Bad Aibling is tough again from Niklasreuth and can be seen as the crowning conclusion. The magnificent view at the top is definitely worth the effort.
The entire climb is relatively undulating, so if you are looking for a pass experience with a consistent gradient, be warned. But anyone who appreciates a climb with a changing profile will be happy here. Very good road surface, few cars and lots of shade in the forest.
