The La Plata area is a small tourist corridor along the old road to Santagüeda. In this area there are several summer farms, an indigenous community called Ambacheke with a population of 90 people, this population has been in the municipality of Palestine for more than 30 years and has a governor.
Likewise, in the educational part it has the José María Carbonell School and healthy recreation sites.
Among its projects is to create a snack bar where
you can enjoy typical dishes from the region and fast food, to combine the local with the external, create and encourage educational tourism, the free market,
handicrafts in bamboo and coffee, exploitation of the Municipal nursery, continue with the
sericulture project, the cultivation of flowers, among others.
The lack of drinking water created problems and illnesses in its population, especially among children, but thanks to a project of the Caldas government it was possible to solve it with the installation of a 7 km pipeline that comes from the Cartagena area.
