La Nava de Enmedio is one of three lagoons of volcanic origin that form part of the lagoon complex known as Las Navas de Malagón, located in the municipality of Malagón, in Ciudad Real. This protected natural area also includes Nava Grande and Nava Chica.
These lagoons are seasonal and their salinity varies, which contributes to their high biological diversity. The area is especially important for the wintering of aquatic birds, including endangered species such as the white-headed duck.
