A visit to the facility is definitely recommended. And there are nice rest stops in the village and at the monastery to enjoy and linger.
Today, the grounds of Lehnin Monastery are operated by the Protestant Deaconess House, which houses a hospital as well as numerous facilities for youth and elderly care. The building looks back on more than 800 years of history, to which its impressive brick Gothic architecture still bears witness, offering a glimpse into medieval architecture.
