At Ingenhammshof, visitors experience the contrast that shaped the founding history of the Ruhr region: the original rural cultural landscape and the monuments of industrialization. It's also a popular destination for families and children. Children can observe the animals in their outdoor enclosures. Horses, cattle, geese, chickens, and goats are rare sights in Duisburg.
"... The Ingenhammshof farm, located in the outdoor area of the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park, is the only remaining remnant of Meiderich's once-functioning agricultural economy, as most farms fell victim to the evolution of industry. However, as a food supplier for the steelworks, the farm was able to secure a permanent place on the Thyssen company site. The oldest documented mention of the Ingenhammshof farm dates back to 1603. Today, the old farm is a center of environmental education.
