Around the old Lorsch monastery you will find many nice cafés and bars that offer the perfect end to a tour. The monastery complex itself can also be visited. Here you get an extensive insight into the history of the monastery. The entire complex is a real highlight and is not a UNESCO World Heritage Site for nothing.
The so-called gate or king's hall is the only building in the monastery that has survived from the Carolingian period and, as one of the best-known examples of early medieval architecture, has made a significant contribution to the fact that the name Lorsch is a fixed term beyond the narrower regional area. Very impressive the UNESCO World Heritage!
