A detour from the Mahrschbahndam to the Regatterstecke Allermöhe and the adjoining bay with a bathing lawn is always worthwhile and is another highlight on the way to the Tatenberg lock. I always enjoy making this little detour.

The Regattastrecke Allermöhe on the Dove-Elbe is an artificially created rowing and canoe route about ten kilometers southeast of Hamburg city center and can be reached by car or S-Bahn in about 15 minutes from the main station.
It was opened in 1985 with two kilometers on the disused sidearm of the Elbe and has since served as the venue for numerous regattas.
The facility is assigned to the Olympic base in Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein and, as a provincial center of excellence, a central location for rowing and canoe performance sports in northern Germany.

Always a great sight ... on the way to Vier- und Marschlande or just coming from there. Attention: part of the (racing) bike path ... there is a lot going on here in summer - no inclines, little traffic, sometimes large groups
