Beautiful stretch in the village of Isola Morosini where the Isonzato river wedges itself with its bends. This location includes a rather large area between the Isonzo and a spring watercourse, the Isonzato, (perhaps an ancient branch of the Isonzo) that flows into it. A land almost completely surrounded by water (for this reason "island"), once reachable only by sea.
Venetian domain owned first by the Malipiero and then by the Morosini, it constituted a single agricultural estate. Purchased in 1896 by the Trieste entrepreneurs Brunner, it remained private property until 1962. Affected by progressive reclamation plans, the last of which concerned the Terranova area in the 1930s, the location is characterized by the presence of several farmhouses scattered throughout the territory.
