The Thing restaurant, affectionately pronounced “Ting”, is a traditional pub in the heart of Augsburg’s old town. Founded in 1974 by committed students as the “Youth and Student Center e.V.”, it originally served as a meeting place for children and young people in what was then the problem district of the old town. Over time, the Thing developed into a popular meeting place for social evenings. 
The menu offers a selection of burgers, including the “Cheeseburger” and the “Mexican Burger” with jalapeños. Vegetarian and vegan options such as the “Spinach Lentil Burger” and the “Vegan Oriental Burger” complement the range. Side dishes such as French fries and country potatoes as well as desserts such as apple strudel with vanilla ice cream round off the culinary experience. 
In summer, the idyllic beer garden in the back courtyard invites you to linger. The self-service drinks and friendly service contribute to the relaxed atmosphere.
