Several stones of the Reichswald are dedicated to deserving people. This stone is used to commemorate the district forester Ludwig Zündt, who pioneered the transformation of the Reichswald into today's mixed forests. He headed the Buckenhof forest district from 1953 to 1973.

To commemorate Revierförster Ludwig Zündt, who led from 1953 to 1973, the forest district Buckenhof. Zündt pioneered the transformation of the Reichswald from pure pine forests ("Stecklaswälder") into species-rich mixed forests.
