On the edge of the Alde Feanen and the Jan Durkspolder there is a thirteen-metre-high observation tower. From the highest point you have a wide view of the bird species that breed, rest and forage here.
The tower was built on the foundations of an old farm called Romsicht, which was demolished in 1967. The thatched roof is covered with reeds that come from the polder. A wide variety of birds live here.

I think the tower was intended to look out into the nature reserve, but judging by the photos, that's not possible. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a fantastic view.
