The market and court linden tree on the square in front of the town hall of Nentershausen, protected as a natural monument, is said to be around 600 years old. The mighty summer linden tree has been severely cut back and is hollow on the inside, the trunk circumference is 7 meters. It is surrounded by a circular wall ring. The von Baumbach family once owned high and low jurisdiction in Nentershausen.
