1 section of the Hoesch harbor railway route. Approximately 2 kilometers of the route have already been completed. When the route is completed, it will be around 7 km long and will connect Phoenix Lake and the Westfalenhütte.

Since week 22, 2025, a section of the second section has been open to traffic. This is unofficial, but possible, as the barriers only partially block access from Max-Eyth Straße toward Defdahl and beyond toward Windmühlenweg. Pedestrians and cyclists are already using the new section. The infrastructure in terms of benches, trash cans, and lighting is still missing, but should be ready by the summer holidays. Some access ramps from Westfalendamm to Hoesch-Hafenbahnweg are already 80% complete. I recently cycled the path from Windmühlenweg to Phoenixsee An den Emscherauen. In my opinion, the new path is even slightly wider than in section 1! Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to access the northern cycle path at Phoenixsee from "An den Emscherauen," as it has been completely closed for months due to paving work on the footpath by the city of Dortmund.
