As a cyclist on the daily commute to work, there are few things that really make the stress of the morning commute more bearable. But hey, there's the Altneckar near Ilvesheim, which always puts a smile on my face. The stretch of river meanders along quietly, and when the sun is just rising or setting in the soft light in the evening, it seems almost magical. On the cycle path past the Altneckar, you have the feeling for a moment that you are escaping everyday life.

It's particularly beautiful when you turn your head and see the small bathing area - hidden, but a real insider tip. Especially on warm summer days, it's a real feast for the eyes: clear water, a few people cooling off, and every now and then a canoe gliding along comfortably. So beautiful that you just want to lean your bike against the tree, take off your shoes and just jump in. Sometimes I think about just taking a detour from my commute and spending a few extra minutes in this little piece of nature – it would definitely be worth it!
