Between Moers and Geldern on the edge of the Lower Rhine landscape park, the Oermter Berg public park awaits its visitors with numerous offers:
Various animal enclosures with red deer, fallow deer and moufflons, children's playgrounds in a large forest area, plus play areas with barbecue facilities, but also quiet relaxation with a wide view of the Donken landscape in the east and the Nierstal in the west.
In the exhibition of the Lower Rhine Natural History Collection at the foot of the Oermter Berg, visitors to the community center meet the history of this area. Here he learns something about the formation of the Oermter mountain during the ice age and its geological structure. The later changes in the forest due to human influence and the development of the landscape with its flora and fauna are also explained to this day.
The Kuhlen waters are depicted as a unique and typical relic of the Ice Age for this landscape, as are Fleuth and Kendel, exemplary for rivers and streams in our lowlands. The aim of the exhibition is to make people aware of the variety of problems and to motivate them to treat nature in an ecological and gentle manner.
Marked hiking and biking trails lead from here to the Kamp Monastery, Hexenland Fun Pool, Bloemersheim Castle and the His-Törchen in Issum.
