The Chisholm Trail is a long connector route that runs north-south between the Navajo Rocks and Horsethief trail systems. Since these are two popular areas, expect two-way biker, hiker, and runner traffic along this trail. From the north headed south, this section of trail starts at the southern end of the Big Lonely Trail, and runs through an open meadow before heading into the pinion pines. Here, the trail then twists and turns, and transitions back and forth between slickrock and hard pack before reaching the Horsethief Campground.
