The Strada del Vecchio Trenino is a cycle/pedestrian itinerary that starts from Asiago and reaches Tresché Conca di Roana up to Campiello, retracing an important part of the route of the old Rocchette-Asiago railway.
The railway line that in the first half of the last century connected the highland mountains with the Vicenza plain played a fundamental role in the growth of the territory of the Seven Municipalities.
During almost fifty years of activity, the glorious train that went up along the Costo accompanied the war events, the reconstruction, the birth of modern tourism, encouraging commercial and cultural exchanges between the Plateau and the Veneto. Those locomotives that laboriously climbed the mountain at just 10 kilometers per hour contributed to the development of the economic and social activities of this land.
The train also gave birth and growth to many dreams in people's hearts; also for this reason the "Vaca Mora" (as the train was called) occupies an important place in many people's albums of memories.
The Rocchette-Asiago railway was inaugurated on 10 February 1910; the activity was stopped in June 1958.
The entire railway section was 21 kilometers and 190 meters long and had seven stations: Rocchette, Cogollo, Campiello, Tresché Conca, Cesuna, Canove and Asiago.
