The building of a former synagogue in the agricultural town of Dolginovo indicates that it used to be a lively trading place. Then there were more than three and a half thousand inhabitants (now almost three times less), there were dozens of shops, noisy kirmas, craft workshops, and a cloth factory producing high-quality woolen fabrics. Unfortunately, the building is now in a dilapidated state; the inside is used by locals for storage space.
