We start from the "De Marie" refuge, built in the 1930s, located at the base of the Volano basin, a splendid plateau enclosed like an amphitheater between the Colombè crests, the Badile Camuno peak and the Tredenus peaks.
You climb further and then take the long and panoramic traverse that leads to the Colombè refuge.
Going up you pass through ancient mountain pastures, but unfortunately also large areas recently deforested due to the bark beetle, the evil insect that is literally destroying entire spruce forests.
Finally you reach a natural terrace where the Colombè refuge stands (1710 mlm), with a unique view where to the south you can even glimpse the distant Lake Iseo.
