In the now abandoned gravel pit, weathered gravel was previously mined, which, in contrast to the northern full gravel, is completely decalcified, but which, in contrast to the quartz residual gravel, still contains crumbly crystalline gravel and siliceous sediments ("Steinbach facies"). The northern full gravel is easily recognizable as the source material. The outcrop areas that remained after the end of mining and have not yet collapsed are difficult to access.
