The current gliding site was opened on June 17, 1956. In 1958, the runway was enlarged.

In the late 1970s, the airfield was further expanded, adapted to legal requirements, and the winch tow route was asphalted. In 1987, permission was applied for to operate motor gliders, launches of free balloons, and aircraft tows.

In 1992, the site was extended by around 100 m and a second tow route was created.

The site is now around 1000 m long, with the longest runway measuring 600 m. Gliders, motor gliders, small motor aircraft, hang gliders, and free balloons take off from the airfield. Model aircraft also use the gliding airfield. It is always an experience to see the planes take off or land. Especially on summer weekends, you are often lucky and can watch the takeoffs and landings. Unfortunately, it has been closed since then in the club restaurant.
