It is located near the Collado de la Carihuela, above it, from which it receives its name, to protect it from the strong wind that usually occurs in the Collado. The track, currently closed, connects the Sierra Nevada Ski and Mountain Station with the Alpujarras municipality of Capileira, and which we can use to make a spectacular descent in B.T.T. to the aforementioned municipality, or continue by road to Órgiva.
