Dun Beag is an excellent example of a broch: a kind of Iron Age round stone tower only found in Scotland. It stands at the top of a rocky knoll on the Isle of Skye, commanding excellent views of the surrounding landscape.
The broch would have been built around 2,000–2,500 years ago. It appears to have been occupied for a very long period – medieval and later coins were reportedly recovered from the site in the early 1900s.
