The arboretum was founded in 1828 by Count Czernin as a nursery for ornamental trees from North America, Europe and Asia. Over 200 species grow in a small area. Worth seeing are the Douglas fir, which was planted in 1842, and the flowering dogwood - the largest specimen of its kind in the Czech Republic.
