With the commissioning of the fish ladder at the Beyenburg reservoir, the Wupper is also accessible to fish and small creatures in this section.

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia contributed 500,000 euros to the construction of the facility itself. The willingness of “long-distance road users” is great: eels, grayling, perch, trout, barbel have already been found here – and of course the long-awaited salmon.
