The Verl village mill at the northern entrance to the town was first mentioned in 1370. The current building was built around 1598 as a grain and sawmill and was last renovated in 1819.
The Hope Monument commemorates the fate of the Jewish family from Verl. It was erected in 1992 on the 50th anniversary of the deportation. Next to the Ölbach Bridge is the sculpture of Saint John of Nepomuk. It is a replica of the original figure from 1752, which was erected to the patron saint of the county of Rietberg. The inscription, which can no longer be read, reads: "As you have kept the seal of confession, Saint John, patron saint, not to deceive your soul, you have acquired the crown of heaven. Therefore we all greet you, stand by us in our last need, so that we may atone for our sins and escape eternal death in the year 1752."
